Ripple CEO Headlines Major Binance Online Event

Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse has been named among exclusive speakers at the upcoming Binance online event scheduled to be held on May 13. 

Garlinghouse will share the stage with Binance Co-CEO Richard Teng and Lily Liu, Solana Foundation president, in a ‘Binance Online’ session, tagged “the Evolution era” which is expected to delve into the future direction of crypto and blockchain adoption.

Binance urged users to “tune in at Binance Online,” though additional details about the session at the event were not made available in the tweet.

Garlinghouse’s participation comes at a time when Ripple is expanding further into payments, tokenization and institutional blockchain services. 

In the past week, a major milestone was reached on the XRP ledger when Mastercard, Ondo Finance, Kinexys by JPMorgan and Ripple completed a landmark transaction connecting the XRPL with interbank settlement rails.

It wouldn’t be the first time Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse participated in a Binance event, albeit onsite. Garlinghouse attended the Binance Blockchain Week, which was held last December in Dubai. The Ripple CEO was on stage for a panel with the theme “the path ahead/moving forward” alongside Lily Liu, Solana Foundation president, and Binance CEO Richard Teng. 

The Ripple CEO recently made an appearance at the XRP Australia 2026 event, expressing optimism for the industry’s growth. 

Expectations on the rise

It is yet unknown exactly what will be discussed at the segment, but the Ripple CEO is expected to bring his wealth of experience, especially in payments to the table.

A number of concerns have recently unsettled the crypto industry including quantum risks and defi hacks. 

Binance Co CEO Richard Teng, in a recent tweet, noted that in April 2026 alone, DeFi hacks amounted to $621 million. He highlighted this as a serious concern, adding that the industry must continue investing in security measures to protect its users.

Ripple recently announced a move into supporting the crypto and digital asset industry by sharing exclusive threat intelligence, developed via sophisticated AI-enhanced detection workflows, with other members of the crypto industry’s information sharing and analysis center, Crypto ISAC.
