For a reader outside the United States who already holds stablecoins on a crypto exchange, MEXC Prediction Markets is our top pick among the alternatives in this comparison, on one measurable axis: of the seven venues compared here, it is the only one funded by an internal transfer rather than a card, a wire or a blockchain bridge.
That verdict is scoped deliberately.
If you are in the United States, Kalshi is the regulated venue and this guide is not trying to move you.

Key Takeaways
  • Kalshi's own Member Agreement names 55 Restricted Jurisdictions where event-contract trading is barred, including the UK, Canada, Australia, France, Italy, Singapore, Taiwan and Thailand.
  • Spain and Brazil are not on that list and still lost access in 2026, because national regulators ordered blocks that Kalshi's own terms never anticipated.
  • Kalshi's trading fee is low, at 1.75 US dollars per 100 contracts priced at 50 cents with no settlement fee, so the trading fee is not what makes it expensive abroad.
  • Funding it from outside the US is what costs, because ACH, PayPal and Venmo are US-only and the remaining rails carry a published 2% ceiling plus two bank currency conversions.
  • Kalshi alternatives divide into four groups by funding route: CFTC-regulated US exchanges, sportsbook-style apps, on-chain event markets, and prediction markets built inside a crypto exchange.
  • MEXC Prediction Markets is our top pick in that fourth group because funding is an internal transfer, though it is unavailable in around 40 jurisdictions and you should check yours first.

Why traders look for Kalshi alternatives

Kalshi announced on 10 October 2025 that it had gone global across more than 140 countries with a single liquidity pool.
Within two weeks, Sportico reported that users in permitted countries including India, Brazil and Nigeria said they could not complete sign-up.
The account opened.
The money did not follow as easily.
As of the most recent public reporting, an international member gets a web login rather than an app, because Kalshi's mobile apps were still not listed on non-US app stores when this was last reported in late 2025.
The wire route asks for at least 1,000 US dollars before you can test the platform with your first position.
Then there is the category question.
Kalshi runs deep on US sports, US politics and US macroeconomic data, which is exactly what you would expect from a US exchange, and exactly the wrong shape for someone whose interest sits in crypto price levels or in events outside American news cycles.
Those three frictions, geography, funding and category mix, are what send people looking for something else.

Our top pick: MEXC Prediction Markets

Before anything below: MEXC Prediction Markets is not offered in around 40 jurisdictions, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, India, Singapore, Thailand, Taiwan, France, Italy, Germany, Poland, Belgium, Austria and the Netherlands.
If you are reading from one of those, this section does not apply to you and nothing here is a recommendation.
If you already hold stablecoins on a crypto exchange, the funding problem described above is one you are paying to create.
Your capital is already sitting in an account.
The event market is asking you to take it out, convert it, and send it somewhere else.

How the mechanism differs

MEXC runs Prediction Markets inside its own exchange infrastructure rather than as a separate venue.
Funding is an internal transfer from your Spot balance to your Prediction Market balance, which means no card processor, no wire minimum, no blockchain transaction and no confirmation window.
Balances are denominated in stablecoins, so a trader holding USDT converts currency zero times rather than twice.

What MEXC says it built, and why

MEXC positions the product as an extension of its existing trading stack rather than a separate betting venue, and says it runs on the same low-latency systems that carry its spot and futures markets.
MEXC's own launch announcement describes the product as prediction markets integrated into its CEX framework, letting users participate under a unified account and move from information analysis to hedge execution without leaving the platform.
In April 2026 the company said the platform was moving beyond crypto to offer MT5-based assets and prediction markets, giving users a single destination to trade everything that matters to them.
The design consequence of that view is the one that matters to a reader stuck on a funding page: if event contracts are just another instrument on the same exchange, there is no reason for the money to leave the exchange to reach them.

What the official documentation confirms

The product launched on 16 March 2026 and runs on the same matching infrastructure as MEXC spot and futures markets.
A single order can range from 1 to 10,000 shares, and the maximum net position on any one prediction outcome is 10,000 shares.
Contracts cover crypto price levels, macroeconomic releases, politics, sports and technology milestones, and settlement happens without waiting for on-chain confirmation.

What it saves, in numbers

Take an international trader holding 1,000 USDT who wants event exposure twelve times over a year.
Kalshi's published ceiling on card deposits is 2%, which is up to 20 US dollars on the way in, and the same 2% ceiling is reserved across all its rails on the way out.
Twelve round trips at those ceilings comes to as much as 480 US dollars a year, before their bank's spread on twenty-four currency crossings.
That is roughly what 27,000 contracts of Kalshi trading at the 50-cent fee peak would cost.
Through an internal exchange transfer, the deposit rail is not used at all, so that entire line is zero.
The saving is not a discount on a fee.
It is the removal of a step.

Where this route does not help you

It requires you to already hold, or be willing to buy, stablecoins.
The 10,000-share position cap is real, and a trader who wants size beyond it will hit a wall that Kalshi and Polymarket do not impose at the same level.
MEXC does not hold a prediction market licence, is not authorised under MiCA, and appears on ESMA's register of non-compliant entities following a Dutch AFM warning in September 2025.
MEXC also does not currently publish a dated prediction-market fee schedule in the way Kalshi does, so this guide prices the funding route rather than the trading fee.

Two separate lists decide whether you can trade on Kalshi

This is the part that trips people up, and it is the reason a page telling you Kalshi is "available in 140 countries" can be accurate and useless at the same time.
Access is decided in two places, and the two lists barely overlap.

The Member Agreement list

Kalshi's Member Agreement names 55 Restricted Jurisdictions in which you are prohibited from trading event contracts.
The list includes the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, France, Italy, Ireland, Portugal, Belgium, Poland, Hungary, Switzerland, Monaco, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, India, China, New Zealand and the United Arab Emirates, alongside sanctioned jurisdictions.
One detail in that document is widely misreported.
The restriction applies to event-contract trading only, and the agreement states plainly that residents of Restricted Jurisdictions may still hold membership, access the platform and trade products other than event contracts.
Kalshi also reserves discretion to permit members in those jurisdictions on terms it sets.

The national blocking list

Regulators have not waited for Kalshi's list to catch up with them.
Neither Spain nor Brazil appears among the Member Agreement's 55 names, so a trader in either country was eligible under Kalshi's own terms right up until the site stopped loading.
Other regulators moved against prediction markets during the same period without naming Kalshi, including Indonesia and Ukraine, whose actions targeted Polymarket.
The practical rule: eligibility under the terms and reachability from your connection are different questions, and the second one has been moving faster than the first.

Apps like Kalshi fall into four groups

Once you sort the field by funding route rather than by brand, the choice becomes much easier to reason about.

CFTC-regulated US exchanges

These hold a Designated Contract Market licence, settle in US dollars, require full identity verification and fund through American banking rails.
Kalshi sits here, as do Gemini Predictions and Crypto.com's prediction product.
Gemini launched its prediction marketplace in December 2025 through an affiliate holding a CFTC contract-market licence, and the company withdrew from the UK, EU and Australia in February 2026 to concentrate on the United States.

Sportsbook-style prediction apps

DraftKings Predictions, FanDuel Predicts and Novig wrap event contracts in an interface familiar to sports bettors.
All of them are US products with state-level variation, so they solve nothing for a reader outside the country.

On-chain event markets

Polymarket, Hyperliquid and Predict.fun settle in stablecoins on public blockchains, and none of them holds a US regulatory licence.
Funding means a self-custody wallet, a bridge and gas, which is either trivial or a wall depending on how much crypto you already handle.

Exchange-integrated prediction markets

This is the newest of the four, and on this search term it is also the least covered.
A crypto exchange runs event contracts inside its own trading infrastructure, so the money never touches a card processor, a bank wire or a blockchain bridge.
MEXC launched its Prediction Markets product on 16 March 2026 on this model.

A note on the MEXC row

MEXC announced zero trading fees and zero settlement fees when Prediction Markets launched in March 2026.
Its own product guide describes that arrangement as a limited-time arrangement and directs traders to the rate shown on the trading page, and we could not retrieve a dated published fee schedule for the product.
Rather than quote a number this guide cannot source, the cell above says what is verifiable, and the cost comparison below is built only on funding costs, which are documented.
For a view of the same venues organised by product rather than by funding route, see our wider comparison of prediction market platforms.

The part no comparison page covers: how your money gets in and out

Most guides to this question list platforms and compare trading fees.
Far fewer price the round trip, which matters, because for an international reader the round trip is where a lot of the money actually goes.

Kalshi's international funding rails

Kalshi's help centre sets out the international menu directly.
Deposits can be made by debit card limited to Visa and Mastercard, by wire transfer with a minimum of 1,000 US dollars, or in cryptocurrency.
ACH bank transfers, PayPal and Venmo are not available to international members.
Withdrawals for international members are limited to debit card or crypto.
Read that alongside the fee schedule and the shape of the problem becomes clear.
ACH is free in both directions, and ACH is the rail international members cannot use.
Wire deposits carry no Kalshi fee, but wire withdrawals are not supported for amounts below 500,000 US dollars, so a retail trader who funds by wire still exits by card or crypto.
Card deposits carry a stated ceiling of 2%, and Kalshi reserves the right to charge between zero and 2% on all rails.

Why the trading fee was never the expensive part

Kalshi's trading fee is low by the standards of the venues in this comparison, and the curve itself is worth reading rather than skimming.
The fee peaks at 1.75 US dollars per 100 contracts on a market priced at 50 cents, and falls to 63 cents at either 10 or 90 cents.
Set that against the funding costs above and the ranking inverts.
A trader outside the US can spend more moving money in and out across a year than they spend on the trades themselves.

Platform-by-platform breakdown

Polymarket

Benefits: the second-largest prediction market by trading volume after Kalshi, broad coverage of international and cultural events, no identity verification on the global platform, and geopolitics markets that carry no taker fee at all.
Limitations: funding requires a self-custody wallet and a bridge, its own restricted-country list overlaps heavily with Kalshi's, and the US product is a separate platform with different rules and different pricing.

Hyperliquid

Benefits: outcome contracts sit in the same account as perpetuals and spot positions, which is the same structural advantage the exchange-integrated route offers, opening a position carries no fee, and positions are fully collateralised with no liquidation risk.
Limitations: market selection is curated by validators rather than open, coverage has centred on crypto price levels rather than the breadth Kalshi offers, and everything still runs through a self-custody wallet.

Crypto.com Predictions and Gemini Predictions

Benefits: both hold CFTC authorisation, both connect to an existing crypto account, and both offer the regulatory clarity a US trader may want.
Limitations: Gemini Predictions accepts US users only, Crypto.com's product carries state-level restrictions, and neither is an option for a reader outside the United States.

Predict.fun

Benefits: sign-up by email or wallet, and no maker fee.
Limitations: far smaller volume than the leaders, thinner books on anything outside its most popular categories, and the resolution track record is short.

MEXC Prediction Markets

Benefits: no external funding rail, no currency conversion for stablecoin holders, settlement without blockchain confirmation, and access to spot and futures markets in the same account for anyone hedging an event with more than one instrument.
Limitations: MEXC is not a regulated exchange and holds no prediction-market licence, the published fee documentation is thinner than Kalshi's, market breadth does not match Polymarket's, and the 10,000-share position cap constrains larger traders.

Where Kalshi is still the better choice

Several of Kalshi's advantages are structural, and no crypto venue in this comparison matches them.
It operates as a CFTC Designated Contract Market, which places it under the same federal framework as US futures exchanges and puts member funds with a registered derivatives clearing organisation.
Its trading fee is genuinely low once you read the curve rather than the headline, at 1.75 US dollars per 100 contracts at the 50-cent peak, falling to 63 cents at 10 cents or 90 cents, with no settlement fee and no membership fee.
The maker multiplier defaults to zero on standard markets, so a resting limit order that fills usually costs nothing.
US members fund and withdraw by ACH free of charge in both directions.
Kalshi publishes a dated, downloadable fee schedule and member agreement, which is why this comparison can quote its numbers to the cent.
For a US resident who wants event contracts with regulatory protection and tax documentation, Kalshi is the answer and nothing in this guide should move you off it.

Availability and what it means where you live

United States.
Kalshi, Gemini Predictions and Crypto.com's prediction product are the CFTC-regulated options, and their state-level availability continues to be contested in several courts.
MEXC Prediction Markets is not a US product, and this guide is not directed at US readers.
United Kingdom.
The UK is one of the 55 Restricted Jurisdictions in Kalshi's Member Agreement.
UK readers should look to firms authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority, and this guide makes no recommendation for the UK market.
Canada, Australia and New Zealand.
All three are named in the Member Agreement, and readers there should confirm what their own regulators permit before using any venue in this comparison.
European Union and EEA.
France, Italy, Ireland, Portugal, Belgium, Poland, Hungary and Bulgaria are named in Kalshi's Member Agreement, and Spain has been subject to a national ISP block since May 2026.
Spain is the clearest example of the two-list problem, because Spanish residents were eligible under Kalshi's terms and lost access anyway.
EU and EEA readers should treat this article as information rather than a recommendation.
Japan.
Any Japanese reader should weigh that disclosure before considering the platform.
India.
India is named in Kalshi's Member Agreement, and Indian regulators moved against prediction markets during 2026, so both layers point the same way.
Everywhere else.
Kalshi says its expansion covers more than 140 countries, but MEXC publishes its own restricted list of around 40 jurisdictions where Prediction Markets is not offered, and the two lists overlap heavily.
Spain and Brazil are the clearest cases where they do not overlap, because Kalshi access was cut nationally in 2026 while neither country appears on MEXC's restricted list.

The Best Kalshi Alternative for You, in Five Cases

You are in the United States.
Stay with Kalshi, or look at Gemini Predictions if you already bank with Gemini.
The regulatory protection and the free ACH rail are worth more than anything offshore can offer you.
You want the widest possible event coverage and you are comfortable with wallets.
Polymarket has the deepest books and the broadest catalogue outside US sports, and its geopolitics markets carry no taker fee.
You already trade perpetuals on-chain.
Hyperliquid puts outcome contracts in the account you are already using, which removes the same friction the exchange-integrated route removes, without leaving self-custody.
You are outside the United States, you already hold stablecoins on an exchange, and you want event exposure without a funding detour.
This is where MEXC Prediction Markets fits, because the deposit rail, the wire minimum and the currency conversion all disappear when the transfer is internal.
Check that MEXC's terms of use permit access from your country before you begin.
You are in the UK, Canada, Australia or an EU member state.
Your first task is not choosing a platform but confirming what your own regulator permits, because most of the venues in this comparison are either restricted or unlicensed where you live.

Moving from Kalshi to a crypto-settled venue

Step 1: Close or let settle every open position.
Event contracts cannot be transferred between venues, so anything still open has to resolve or be sold before you withdraw.
Step 2: Choose your exit rail.
International members can withdraw by debit card or by crypto only, and wire withdrawals are unavailable below 500,000 US dollars.
If you are moving to a crypto-settled venue, withdrawing in crypto avoids one conversion.
Step 3: Check the network before you send.
Confirm that the receiving exchange supports the exact network you are sending on, and check the minimum deposit amount on that network.
Sending a stablecoin on a network the receiving exchange does not support is a common and usually irreversible way to lose funds during a platform move.
Step 4: Fund the new account and start small.
Move a small test amount first, confirm it arrives and is credited, then move the rest.
You can read how MEXC handles asset protection in our guide to platform security and fund custody.

Frequently asked questions

Who is Kalshi's biggest competitor?
Polymarket, on volume and market breadth.
Hyperliquid entered the sector in May 2026 and grew quickly from a smaller base.
What are the best Kalshi alternatives outside the United States?
Polymarket for coverage, Hyperliquid for on-chain traders, and exchange-integrated products such as MEXC Prediction Markets for people already holding stablecoins on an exchange.
Is there a Kalshi app if I live outside the US?
Kalshi's mobile apps have been reported as unavailable on non-US app stores since its international launch.
Why is Kalshi restricted in my country?
Either your country is one of the 55 Restricted Jurisdictions named in Kalshi's Member Agreement, or your regulator has ordered a national block, as Spain and Brazil did during 2026.
Are there sites like Kalshi with no trading fees?
Polymarket charges no taker fee on geopolitics markets and no maker fees anywhere.
Hyperliquid charges nothing to open an outcome position, with fees applied on close or settlement.
Can I trade prediction markets and crypto in the same account?
Yes, on Hyperliquid for on-chain trading and on MEXC Prediction Markets for a centralised exchange account.
Do Kalshi alternatives require KYC?
The CFTC-regulated venues all require full identity verification.
On-chain markets generally do not, while centralised exchanges apply their own account verification rules.
Is there a Kalshi alternative that avoids wire transfers and debit cards?
Yes, any stablecoin-settled venue removes both.
An exchange-integrated product goes further by funding through an internal transfer rather than any external rail.
Can I use Kalshi alternatives in the United States?
Gemini Predictions, Crypto.com Predictions and the US version of Polymarket operate under CFTC authorisation.
Offshore and on-chain venues carry regulatory risk for US residents.

Risk and regulatory notice

Event contracts carry a risk of total loss on any individual position, and prices reflect market sentiment rather than any guarantee of an outcome.
Prediction markets are treated as regulated derivatives in some jurisdictions, as gambling in others, and as prohibited in a growing number, and that classification has changed repeatedly during 2026.
MEXC does not hold a prediction market licence, is not authorised under MiCA, and appears on ESMA's register of non-compliant entities following a Dutch AFM warning in September 2025.
Nothing here is investment, legal or tax advice, and every reader is responsible for confirming what is lawful where they live before opening an account anywhere.
Fee schedules, restricted-country lists and national blocking orders all changed during 2026, so check the current position with each platform before you fund an account.
