To transfer crypto from Bitget to another exchange, first bring every balance into your Spot account, then open Assets and Withdraw, select a network that your destination platform actually accepts for that coin, paste its deposit address along with any required memo or tag, and confirm the withdrawal with two-factor authentication.
The transfer is on-chain and irreversible, so the network you pick matters far more than the fee you pay.

Key Takeaways
  • Only your Spot account can fund a withdrawal, so release anything held in Futures, Earn, copy trading, bots or P2P first.
  • Bitget states its withdrawal fees are dynamic and shown at the confirmation step, so read the live figure rather than any published table.
  • Pick the network from your destination's deposit page first, then transfer only on a chain that both platforms support.
  • Withdrawals stay blocked while verification is pending and for 24 hours after any security change, so plan the timing.
  • Bitget made identity verification mandatory on September 1, 2023, although some guides still date it to 2024.
  • A transfer between platforms is not a sale, but export your trade history before you leave so your cost basis survives.

Why People Are Moving Crypto Off Bitget Right Now

Most exits are quiet and personal: a missing listing, a fee schedule that stopped making sense, an account that outgrew the platform it started on.
Some are not.
On August 3, 2026, Bitget announced that it will stop serving residents of Japan, citing compliance with local regulation.
New registrations from Japan closed immediately.
Accounts identified as Japanese move into a close-only state from November 1, 2026 at 11:00 Japan time, and any positions still open after December 31 are settled by the platform, though crypto withdrawals remain available.
That announcement did not come from nowhere.
Japan's Financial Services Agency named Bitget in warnings to unregistered operators in 2023 and again in November 2024, and in February 2025 the regulator asked Apple and Google to remove several offshore exchange apps from Japanese stores.
Geography is the other common trigger.
Bitget's Terms of Use list a set of prohibited countries that includes the United States and its territories, Canada, Singapore, Hong Kong, Austria, France, Germany and Kazakhstan, per Bitget's official Terms of Use, retrieved August 4, 2026.
People discover that list at the worst possible moment, which is usually while travelling or after a residency change.
None of this is a solvency story, and it should not be read as one.
Bitget is not winding down, and the situations that call for an emergency exit look completely different from a regional withdrawal, which we cover separately in our guide on how to move assets away from an exchange in distress.

Before You Transfer From Bitget: Five Places Your Money Is Already Trapped

A frequent surprise when people start a withdrawal is a balance that reads zero on the withdrawal page.
The money has not gone anywhere.
It is simply parked in an account type that cannot send an on-chain transaction.
Work through this table before you touch the withdrawal page.
What is holding your funds
Why it blocks the withdrawal
How to release it
Futures margin (USDT-M, Coin-M)
Margin and frozen collateral are not spendable from the withdrawal page
Close or reduce positions, then transfer the freed margin to Spot; internal transfers are instant and free
Earn, savings, launch pool
Subscribed principal sits outside Spot
Redeem flexible products immediately; fixed-term products hold principal until maturity, so check the unlock date first
Copy trading allocation
Committed funds follow the trader you copy
Wait for the copied position to close, which is not under your control, or stop copying where the product allows it
Trading bots
A running strategy reserves its allocated balance
Stop the bot rather than waiting for it to finish its cycle
P2P and OTC
Escrowed orders plus the T+X hold applied after certain P2P purchases pause withdrawals, internal transfers and selling
Complete or cancel open orders, then wait out the hold, whose length depends on the fiat currency and your region
Identity verification incomplete or pending
Withdrawals stay restricted until verification is approved
Submit or complete verification and wait for approval before planning the transfer
24-hour security freeze
Triggered automatically after a password change, a 2FA update or a security-settings change
Wait out the full 24 hours before attempting another withdrawal
Data verified as of August 4, 2026 against Bitget's official help center articles on withdrawal restrictions, P2P withdrawal limits and identity verification.
The last two rows catch people who did everything else right.
Both are deliberate security measures rather than faults, so plan the timing around them.
The practical lesson is scheduling.
If you are planning to tighten your security before a large move, do it a day early.

What Bitget Actually Charges to Withdraw, and Why Every Fee Table You Find Is Wrong

Search for Bitget withdrawal fees and you will find half a dozen confident tables.
They disagree with each other.
One widely copied guide lists USDT on TON at zero and Ethereum at roughly six dollars, another puts Ethereum between ten and thirty, and a third has Tron tied at one dollar with four other major exchanges.
At least one of those pages describes itself as an official Bitget affiliate partner.
Bitget's own help centre gives the answer those tables cannot: withdrawal fees are dynamic, they move with network conditions, and the authoritative number is the one shown on the withdrawal confirmation page before you submit.
The announcement record backs that up.
In August 2024 Bitget suspended USDT withdrawals on BEP-20 because of congestion and temporarily cut the Ethereum fee to 0.5 USDT, then restored BEP-20 and put Ethereum back to 3.50 USDT.
A zero-fee promotion opened for USDT on BEP-20 on September 20, 2024 with no end date announced.
Another opened for USDT on Solana ten days later, capped at three free withdrawals per coin per day.
A third arrived for USD1 on BEP-20 in May 2025.
Then on September 23, 2025, Bitget suspended USDT withdrawal services on BEP-20 until further notice.
All of the above comes from Bitget's own announcement pages, retrieved August 4, 2026.
So here is the honest position, which is more useful than a table.
Leaving Bitget can be very cheap and has at times been free on specific stablecoin routes, because the platform has repeatedly run zero-fee withdrawal promotions.
It can also cost several dollars on Ethereum during congestion.
You will not know which applies to you until you open the withdrawal window, select your coin, and read the fee and the minimum withdrawal amount that appear for each network.
Do that before you decide how much to send, because the minimum is enforced and a flat fee on a small transfer is a large percentage.

How to Pick the Right Network: Start From the Destination

Network choice is where irreversible mistakes happen, and the usual cause is picking the cheapest chain instead of a compatible one.
Open the deposit page on the platform you are moving to and note every network it accepts for your coin.
Then open the Bitget withdrawal page for the same coin and note every network it currently offers.
Only the chains on both lists are usable, and within that overlap you can compare the live fees and pick the cheapest.
A worked example helps.
MEXC has supported USDT on the Toncoin network since April 2024, alongside Tron, Ethereum, BNB Chain, Solana, Arbitrum, Polygon and others.
That wide overlap means a Bitget user usually has several compatible routes and can simply take the cheapest one on offer that day.
A destination that only accepts Ethereum gives you no such choice.
Two chain-level traps are worth naming.
Addresses starting with 0x look identical across Ethereum, BNB Chain, Polygon and several layer twos, so the interface will happily let you send BEP-20 tokens to a destination that only credits ERC-20.
Assets such as XRP, XLM, EOS, ATOM, TON and HBAR commonly require a memo or destination tag, and the withdrawal form shows the field whenever it applies.
Send those without the memo and the funds reach the exchange but cannot be matched to your account, which turns a two-minute transfer into a support ticket.
Our guide to USDT networks compared covers the technical differences between chains in more depth.

How to Transfer Crypto From Bitget to Another Exchange in Six Steps

Step 1. Consolidate everything into Spot.
Go to Assets, then Transfer, set the source to whichever account holds your funds and the destination to Spot, and confirm.
Step 2. Get the deposit address from your destination first.
Generate a fresh address on the receiving platform for the exact coin and network you intend to use, and copy the memo separately if one is shown.
Never reuse an address from an old screenshot or a saved note.
Step 3. Open the Bitget withdrawal page.
Go to Assets, then Withdraw, and select your coin.
Choose the network you identified in the overlap step, then read the fee and the minimum withdrawal amount displayed for that specific chain.
Step 4. Send a test transfer.
Move the minimum permitted amount first, confirm it credits on the other side, and only then send the rest.
The test costs one withdrawal fee and removes almost all of the risk from the main transfer.
Step 5. Paste, verify and confirm.
Paste the address, add the memo if required, then check the first six and last six characters against the source rather than trusting the paste.
Clipboard-hijacking malware works precisely because people skip this step.
Complete two-factor authentication and any email confirmation, and note that large withdrawals can go to manual review.
Step 6. Track it and close the loop.
Copy the transaction ID from your withdrawal history and follow it on the relevant block explorer.
If the transaction is confirmed on-chain but not credited after a reasonable window, the receiving platform is the one to contact, with the transaction ID in hand.

What to Check on the Receiving Side

Guides that stop at the send button leave out half the job.
The receiving platform has its own rules, and they are the reason a technically successful transfer sometimes does not show up.
Check the minimum deposit amount, because deposits below the threshold may not credit automatically and can require a manual recovery request.
Check the confirmation requirements, which vary far more than people expect.
On MEXC, Bitcoin deposits credit after 2 confirmations and Ethereum after 10, while USDT on ERC-20 needs 96 network confirmations, according to the MEXC deposit and withdrawal guide.
Check whether your account on the receiving side is verified to the level you will need.
Nothing is more frustrating than watching funds arrive into an account that cannot yet trade or withdraw them.
Finally, check that the specific token is actually listed and that its deposit channel is open, since exchanges suspend individual deposit channels for maintenance and network upgrades.

Five Ways a Bitget Transfer Fails, and How to Stop Each One

The balance shows zero on the withdrawal page.
Funds are in another account type, so return to the unlock audit above.
The withdrawal is restricted.
The usual causes are incomplete or pending verification, the 24-hour security freeze, or balances locked in open orders, active copy trades, Earn products or non-withdrawable bonuses.
The address is rejected as invalid.
The address format does not match the selected network, which is the interface catching a mistake before it becomes expensive.
The transaction confirmed but nothing arrived.
Check whether the coin needed a memo, whether the amount cleared the destination minimum, and whether the destination supports that chain.
Contact the receiving platform with the transaction ID.
Someone offers to help you recover it.
This is worth its own warning, because searches about stuck withdrawals attract impersonators.
Legitimate exchange support teams do not ask you to send funds to an address to unlock, verify or recover a balance.
Support does not need your password, your seed phrase or your two-factor codes.
Reach support only through the help centre inside the platform itself, never through a link in a direct message or a comment reply.

Choosing Your Destination

Where you go depends on what pushed you out, and the honest answer is that no single platform wins every case.
If you need fiat rails in your own currency and a locally regulated venue, a licensed domestic exchange in your jurisdiction is the right answer even though it will list fewer assets.
If copy trading was the reason you were on Bitget, that product is a real strength and you should weigh losing it.
If your priority is trading cost and access to newly listed tokens, the calculation looks different.

What MEXC Offers a Bitget User

The cost of leaving is trivial and the cost of staying is recurring, which is the part most migration guides never work out.
A withdrawal costs a flat fee once.
A taker rate costs you on every fill, for as long as you keep trading there.
Bitget's published base spot rate is 0.10% for makers and takers, per Bitget's own published fee materials, retrieved August 4, 2026.
MEXC's base spot schedule is 0% for makers and 0.05% for takers, per the MEXC fee guide, with USDT-margined perpetual futures at 0% maker and 0.02% taker.
Put real numbers on it.
A trader doing 20,000 dollars a month in taker volume pays 240 dollars a year at 0.10% and 120 dollars at 0.05%.
At 100,000 dollars a month, that gap is 1,200 dollars against 600.
The one-off cost of moving is a single withdrawal fee, which even on an expensive chain is a few dollars.
Maker orders widen the gap further, since a resting limit order costs nothing on the MEXC base schedule.
Two things to be precise about, because vague fee claims are how readers get burned.
Rates vary by region, trading pair and active campaign, and orders placed through the MEXC API run on a separate futures schedule.
The fee page inside your own account is the only figure that applies to you.
On the reserves question, MEXC publishes Proof of Reserves with Merkle tree verification, so any user can independently confirm that their own balance is included in the audited total.
If low trading costs and early access to new listings are what you were missing, open a MEXC account and get your deposit address ready before you start the withdrawal.
Practical sequencing note: create and verify the receiving account first.
Verification queues are a common reason a planned same-day transfer turns into a two-day one.
The MEXC app deposit guide walks through generating a deposit address on mobile, and our Binance to MEXC transfer walkthrough covers the same mechanics from a different starting platform.

Keep Your Records: A Transfer Is Not a Sale, but It Still Matters

Moving a coin from one platform to another is not a disposal, and in most jurisdictions it does not by itself create a taxable event.
What it does create is a records problem.
Your original purchase price lives in the trade history of the platform you are leaving, and that history becomes much harder to retrieve once the account is closed or restricted.
Export your full trade, deposit and withdrawal history as CSV before you finish the move.
Save the withdrawal transaction IDs alongside it, since those are what link the two sets of records together.
Tax treatment differs by country and this is not tax advice, so confirm your own position with a qualified adviser.

Can You Transfer From Bitget in Your Country? US, UK, EU and Japan

United States.
Bitget's Terms of Use list the United States and its territories among prohibited countries, and MEXC's User Agreement does the same.
US residents should move to a platform registered with FinCEN and licensed in their state, and nothing in this guide is an invitation to do otherwise.
United Kingdom.
MEXC's User Agreement lists the United Kingdom as a prohibited jurisdiction, so UK readers should look to firms authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority.
European Economic Area.
Bitget's Terms of Use name Austria, France and Germany among prohibited countries, which surprises people who have used the platform from elsewhere in the bloc.
MEXC does not hold a MiCA authorisation, and the transitional period for the EU and EEA ended on 1 July 2026.
Readers in the EEA should check the ESMA register and use an authorised provider.
Japan.
Stated plainly, because you deserve the full picture rather than a pitch.
Japan does not appear among the prohibited jurisdictions in MEXC's User Agreement, but the MEXC apps cannot be downloaded from Japanese iOS or Android stores, per MEXC's own restricted regions article.
MEXC Global was named alongside Bitget in the FSA's November 2024 warning to unregistered operators and in the February 2025 app-store request.
If supervision under Japanese law matters to you, an FSA-registered domestic exchange is the appropriate destination.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I transfer crypto from Bitget to another exchange?
Move the funds to your Spot account, then use Assets and Withdraw.
Select a network your destination accepts, paste its deposit address and memo, and confirm.

What is the cheapest network to withdraw from Bitget?
It changes, because Bitget's fees are dynamic and it runs zero-fee promotions on selected stablecoin routes.
Compare the live fees shown in the withdrawal window for every network your destination supports.

Can I withdraw from Bitget without completing KYC?
No.
Bitget made identity verification mandatory on September 1, 2023, and withdrawals stay restricted while verification is incomplete or under review.

Why is my Bitget withdrawal restricted?
The usual causes are pending verification, the automatic 24-hour freeze after a security change, or funds locked in Earn, copy trading or open P2P orders.

How long does a Bitget withdrawal take?
Fast chains typically settle in minutes and Bitcoin can take up to an hour.
Congestion, manual review of large amounts and the 24-hour security freeze all extend that.

What is the minimum withdrawal amount on Bitget?
It depends on the coin and the network, and it is displayed on the withdrawal page once you select both.
Amounts below the minimum cannot be submitted.

What happens to my copy trading and Earn positions when I leave?
Copy trading funds stay locked until the copied position closes, and fixed-term Earn products hold your principal until maturity.
Release both before you plan the withdrawal.

Is Bitget shutting down?
No.
Bitget announced on August 3, 2026 that it is ending services for residents of Japan, with positions settled after December 31, 2026, but it continues operating in its other markets.

Do I have to sell my crypto to move it to another exchange?
No, an on-chain transfer moves the same asset and is not a sale.
Export your trade history first so your cost basis records survive the move.

Risk and Compliance

On-chain transfers are irreversible, and funds sent to a wrong address or an unsupported network may be permanently unrecoverable.
Platform availability, fees, verification tiers and withdrawal limits change without notice, so confirm every figure against the platform's own interface at the time you transfer.
Check whether a platform serves your jurisdiction before opening an account, and do not use tools to bypass geographic restrictions, which breaches the terms of every major exchange and can result in frozen funds.
