Reports attest Trump's 'Rededicate 250' event drew in small crowds

President Donald Trump's free eight-hour Rededicate 250 prayer event held at the National Mall in D.C. Sunday drew a notably sparse crowd, with Reuters photos capturing numerous empty seats.

The White House-backed gathering was described as a "National Jubilee Of Prayer, Praise and Thanksgiving," according to The Daily Beast. House Speaker Mike Johnson appeared in person, while Vice President JD Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth contributed pre-recorded messages.

Trump himself also skipped the event to golf in Virginia, posting on Truth Social: "I HOPE EVERYBODY AT REDEDICATE 250 IS HAVING A GOOD TIME."

In addition to his post, Trump aired a three-minute video of recycled footage from an April America Reads the Bible event.

The National Mall can accommodate over one million visitors, yet organizers had claimed "several thousand attendees," according to the Daily Beast and Politico.

Despite visibly empty rows, Trump allies claimed success. Teen influencer Bo Loudon said D.C. was, "filled to the brim with patriots honoring God," and Deputy Assistant Sebastian Gorka boasted of a "huge crowd."
