PETALING JAYA: Two people were killed when the car they were travelling in skidded, crashed and caught fire at the Jalan Kuching exit ramp on the Duta-Ulu Kelang Expressway (DUKE) in Kuala Lumpur early this morning.
The Kuala Lumpur fire and rescue department said the two victims had burnt to death, Bernama reported.
In a statement, it said its operations centre received an emergency call at 5.20am and a team from the Jinjang and Sri Hartamas fire and rescue stations was deployed to the scene.
Upon arrival, the team found a vehicle engulfed in flames with three victims inside.
“Two victims were found charred after being trapped in the burning vehicle, while a third victim was rescued and sent for treatment,” it said.
The department said the cause of the accident was being ascertained.
