Among the prominent names in the fray are Johor BN chairman Onn Hafiz Ghazi, and former health minister Dr Adham Baba, and former education minister Maszlee Malik.
PETALING JAYA: The 16th Johor state election on July 11 will feature 172 candidates vying for 56 seats, down from 239 candidates in the 2022 state polls.
Among the prominent names in the fray are Johor Barisan Nasional chairman Onn Hafiz Ghazi, who will defend Machap, former health minister Dr Adham Baba, who will contest Pasir Raja, and ex-education minister Maszlee Malik, who will contest the Puteri Wangsa seat for Pakatan Harapan (PH).
Meanwhile, ex-Johor menteri besar Dr Sahruddin Jamal is defending Bukit Kepong and Pulai MP Suhaizan Kaiat is contesting the Larkin state seat.
Early voting will be held on July 7, while polling day is on July 11.
